The old diaries of Papua New Guinea
***************

This week school really started with assemblies with the students in the auditorium. All nationalities under their own flag.

Our school counts this year about 95 students
(middle school + high school).

In the auditorium classes performed sketches to show the school rules. Left the use of music MP3 players: not during schooltime!

It is my responsibilities as assistent director to deal with offenses. I can assure you: That is not my favorite job.

Right the ladies of the schoolkitchen.
You can order different types of lunches!

Below: The dress code is here
much more strict than in PNG!

Above: My direct colleage science teacher
together with the PE teacher.

The French teacher writes the names of students present or absent.

Right... Friday afternoon was kick off...
a time of games and sport.
Here the students managing the technic.

Left: Mark leads quizes about countries and the Olympics.

Right: The seniors (grade 12) served
a piza meal for the whole school.

After the piza meal we prepared for a big game outside in two groups: a kind of smugglers against guards.
I made myselve a photographer. I start feeling my age of 61 springs!

On Mondays I will probably become one of the coaches of our school-volleyball-teams. I downloaded instruction programs from youtube and realize that my own received past trainings were far from progessional.

The finishing touch was a balloon game on our basket- and volleyball field.

It was a nice start of this new school year.

RFIS is a different schooltype than Malango School. A much stronger organization with its advantages but also extra work.

This week the quarterplans must be ready: a detailed schedule of day to day work, labs, homework etc. It means for me that I have to read and plan complete new books without knowing clearly what is possible yet.

Saturday morning I went to town to do some shopping. Taxi's are all over this place and very cheap. For 1.5 dollar (300 CFA) you take a taxi down town shared with 3-4 random other people picked up along the road.

On the way back with all my shoppings I took a taxi under the condition "Depot". It costs 1500 CFA (7 dollars) but then the taxi is for you alone.

See you next week!
